Transilwrap Company, Inc., a distributor, converter and manufacturer of specialty film products, has acquired MetPro Group, a supplier of active and protective packaging systems that protect products from corrosion or physical damage during shipping and storage. MetPro utilizes proprietary technology in combination with specialty films and foils to develop products that solve the specific needs of customers. The company serves a broad range of industrial markets worldwide, including transportation, metals, machinery and equipment, chemical and pharmaceutical, and other related markets. It serves those customers in over 30 countries, with seven manufacturing facilities, one R&D hub, and sales offices in multiple cities across Europe, North America, South Africa, and Asia. “This acquisition furthers Transilwrap’s strategy of expanding our presence in important global growth markets while enhancing our value-added product offering. The combined global infrastructure and complementary capabilities in coating and converting technologies will allow both companies to better serve customers worldwide,” says Andy Brewer, president & CEO of Transilwrap. “We are excited to be partnering with MetPro’s management team, including co-CEOs Marc Rapp and Rick Earley whose extensive experience has made MetPro a leading innovator in the marketplace.” “This will be a very strong and exciting partnership and we look forward to the growth opportunities that this acquisition brings,” says co-CEOs Marc Rapp and Rick Earley of MetPro Group. “Transilwrap’s broad portfolio of capabilities and extensive North American facilities network will allow MetPro to accelerate geographic expansion while developing more innovative products and support services for our customer base.” In November 2013, The Jordan Company, in partnership with the existing management team, acquired Transilwrap as a platform to build a leading global specialty films company. MetPro represents a meaningful first acquisition under Jordan’s ownership as it expands Transilwrap’s global end-market reach and increases its value-added manufacturing capabilities. MetPro will continue to be run by the current management team and will operate as a new business segment inside Transilwrap. Employees and facilities will continue to operate as they do today.
